The Australian Dream plot
"When the truth of history is told, we can all walk together."
For years, Adam Goodes was a national sporting hero in Australia. He twice received the Brownlow Medal, the annual award for the fairest and best player in Australian football. Ever since a thirteen-year-old girl called him a "monkey" from the stands and had her removed from the stadium, this son of an Aborigine mother and Irish-Scottish father has lost popularity. After he was named “Australian of the Year” in 2014, hatred for the brilliant player continued to grow. In this documentary, Goodes and various leaders from the Australian journalism and sports world look back on this case.
