Summer in the Forest plot

Until the 1960s, like countless others, Philippe, Michel, André and Patrick were labeled 'idiots' and locked up and forgotten in violent psychiatric institutions. The young philosopher Jean Vanier finally took a stand and secured their release. It was the first time in history that anyone had defeated the system. Together they created L'Arche, a community on the edge of a beautiful forest near Paris. A silent revolution was born. Now in the 1980s, still at L'Arche and revered by some as a living saint, Jean has discovered something most of us have forgotten - what it's like to be human, to be crazy and to be happy.
