Stan Laurel: The Last Laugh plot

Biography of one of the silver screen's greatest comedians: Stan Laurel. The starting point was the celebration of Stan Laurel's centenary in his native town of Ulverston, England in 1990. In 1912, Arthur Stanley Jefferson moved to America as a substitute for Charles Chaplin. After years of vaudeville, under the name Stan Laurel, he ends up in the still fledgling film industry and in 1917 he gets Oliver Hardy as a film partner. It would take another ten years and about seventy films before they, through Hal Roach, would harvest world fame as a duo.
