Sous le Souleil Vert plot
The documentary is about the ever-growing group of people who adopt an attitude to life that can be characterized as voluntary simplicity: the insight to adapt your consumption pattern to what you need instead of what you want. A particularly cheap and environmentally conscious choice and above all one that has a particularly purifying effect. By growing some vegetables yourself and sharing it with your neighbors, many people feel more in touch with nature and more socially appreciated. In 'Sous le Soleil Vert' we see different groups of people who try to improve their immediate living environment with small-scale, self-organizing, social projects. From the Freegans who go out in New York to get as much good food as possible from garbage cans, to self-sufficient bon vivants in rural California.
