Reporter plot
In the documentary 'Reporter' we follow Nicholas D. Kristof, renowned reporter at The New York Times. In the summer of 2007, the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner travels to the Democratic Republic of Congo to report on the civil war. Kristof explains how the public can be reached. He looks for people who have a story to tell that is illustrative of the human rights crisis in Congo. He travels through destroyed villages and refugee camps and pays a blood-curdling visit to the most important Congolese warlord, General Nkunda. In this way Kristof tries to put Congo on the political agenda. 'Reporter' is not only the story about an underexposed conflict in Africa, but also a plea for good journalism.
