Play Me Allegro plot
Julia and her daughter live in Kibbutz Nir-Am, three miles from Gaza City. Due to its location on the border between Israel and the Palestinian Territory, the kibbutz has the highest number of rocket strikes per square kilometer in the country, and the shortest warning time: less than 18 seconds after the siren goes off. But despite the Israeli helicopters overhead and the Palestinian missiles in their backyard, Julia and her daughter try to live as normal a life as possible in these abnormal circumstances. Julia takes her daughter from violin lessons to dance school and in between she seeks as much contact as possible with her Palestinian neighbors. And that works well.
