Nico Icon plot
Nico was one of the most fascinating women of the pop art revolution of the 1960s. She was born Christa Päffgen in Berlin in 1938. After a successful career as a model, she started working with people like Fellini. After getting to know greats like Alain Delon and Bob Dylan, it wasn't long before she also met Andy Warhol. When she joined the Velvet Underground, her singing career took over. And her status as an icon was assured. As she sank into a destructive existence of madness, music and heroin, the mystery surrounding her person grew. She became immortal with her death in 1988. This film shows her as she was and as she appeared to be. Friends, family, colleagues and loved ones trace the life of a legendary personality - combined with archive footage and concert recordings.
