Mediocre film about a gang of girls who go to war with another gang. A thin story about two rival gangs, but in which there is also a battle going on internally. A reasonable portion of violence that often looks rather comical, while that did not seem to be the intention. The bad acting just adds some extra charm.

Fairly chaotic set up story with a lot of amateurish traits. For example, the action scenes look a bit tame and it is all brought too unbelievably. The settlement of gunfights on the skating rink is an example of this. But the way they act, live and go to school is also overemphasized, which affects credibility. And I'm not talking about their age yet. The acting is also mediocre, especially Lace ( Robbie Lee ) is sometimes disturbing. Patch (Monica Gayle) with her eyepatch came across as cooler as her counselor. I found the leading lady Maggie (Joanne Nail) very variable in terms of acting, sometimes cool but unfortunately often not convincing. These ladies don't really care about their looks either. The most beautiful tough girl was Bunny (Janice Karman) who you can also see naked when she plays hooker for her boyfriend at school. Pretty decent in terms of nudity and action. You also have a gang member named Donut. I thought the final scene with the battle in the shadows was very well developed. Certainly not boring, but overall a mediocre film. 5/10

The Jezebels is a typical exploitation film from the 1970s. The film was popular again in the 1990s when Quentin Tarantino re-released it under the Rolling Thunder Pictures label. The film is a girl-gang film that, with remarkably little nudity, shows a gang of girls who rebel against the gang of boys of which they are the playful part.

The film has the usual scenes that you would expect in such a film. The girls in a juvenile detention center with a naughty lesbian warden who wants naughty things and is fought over. The confrontations between rival gangs and rival characters. The initiation. The big crucial brawl between the gangs. The crucial duel for supremacy in the girl gang. Quite predictable and also moderately executed.

The story is about friendship, jealousy, love and betrayal. The well-known high school theme, but then set in a youth gang and worked out simplistic. There is no more. The acting isn't great. The characterizations of the characters are superficial and stereotyped. The action and violence scenes are stylized amateurishly. There is very little that arouses interest.

The film does a bit of sexploitation but then allows the women to become independent. From a junior gang of girls, the group is elevated to The Jezebels. Named for the biblical figure who is regarded as imperious, independent and an enemy of patriarchy. Nice thought. I wasn't very impressed with it.
