Nederland onder Water plot

the Netherlands and water; they are inextricably linked. Our mills, pumping stations, polders and dikes are world famous among tourists. We are surrounded by water in a fascinating landscape of ditches, waterways, canals, ponds, lakes and rivers. We advise the whole world on water management. But what do we actually know about the inhabitants below the water level? Less than 30 years ago it was unthinkable to make an underwater film in the Netherlands. There was nothing to see in the polluted murky water and a large part of our water was lifeless. The worst pollution is now behind us. Rare residents return in a spectacular way, clean water is brimming with life again. The tide seems to be turning for underwater nature.
