Mighty Ira plot
From 1978 to 2001, Ira Glasser was the face of UCLA, an influential group that since 1925 has stood up for anyone whose civil rights are violated in the US. UCLA was discredited in the late 1970s when it decided to work to defend the civil rights of Frank Collin, the leader of a neo-Nazi group. Collin wanted to organize a protest march in Skokie, a Chicago suburb that is home to tens of thousands of Jews, including many Holocaust survivors. Glasser and some other key figures in the intense debate that has long dominated the news, look back on this turbulent period and discuss the importance of the right to protest for everyone.
