Spain, 1975: Death of the dictator Franco, 40 years of repressive regime that resulted in hundreds of thousands of victims: exiles, orphans, prisoners, deportees, and tortured. Today, more than thirty years later, Spain is beginning to lift the veil from this period and provide justice for the victims of Francoism. For the first time, a film reflects this process of recognition and mourning, as Spain tries to live in peace with its terrible past.
