Lendemains Incertains plot

June 2015, Burundi. Thousands of people gather on the streets of Bujumbura to demonstrate against Pierre Nkurunziza's third term in office. While director Eddy Munyaneza films the first acts of violence and victims, he becomes separated from his family. Due to the ongoing violence and fear of reprisals for continuing to film, he fled the country. The second part of the film is the search for his children in Burundi and Rwanda. On both sides of the border he meets people who have stayed and people who have fled. Their stories, often fragmentary and cruel, express a great deal of uncertainty.
