Le Rappel des Oiseaux plot

As a paying tourist, Stéphane Batut films a traditional funeral ritual in the Eastern Tibetan highlands near Litang, where the bodies, wrapped in flower petals, are thrown to the vultures as offerings. While Batut feels an intruder on this intimate ritual and reflects on his own relationship with death, a wake unfolds. We hear the calm voice of a Tibetan interlocutor, actually composed of many individual encounters, which helps the viewer to understand the event.
