La Verità su La Dolce Vita plot
No classic is created without blood, sweat and tears, as this documentary about the making of La Dolce Vita proves. The fact that Federico Fellini's classic about a gossip journalist (Marcello Mastroianni) was made in 1960's Rome is probably due in large part to producer Peppino Amato. His grandson Giuseppe Pedersoli in turn reconstructs the genesis of the film, in which re-enacted events, with actor Luigi Petrucci as Amato, are combined with fragments from the film and testimonies from Mastroianni, Bernardo Bertolucci, Vittorio de Sica and Dino de Laurentiis.
