After the Second World War, many European artists fled from the Nazis to New York. Thanks in part to the economic boom, the Big Apple is quickly becoming the capital of modern art. A new generation is emerging, including Pollock, Rothko and de Kooning. The American avant-garde has no political affiliation, but under the influence of the CIA, the dissemination of this art becomes a political weapon abroad. This documentary analyzes the link between art, history and politics.
