Klima-Mysteriet plot
Documentary about the Danish scientist Henrik Svensmark and his controversial theory that global warming is not primarily due to higher concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere, but to cosmic rays. Like anyone who swims against the tide, Svensmark encounters a lot of opposition from the scientific 'establishment', but after ten years of experimental research he can now substantiate his theory with evidence. He is also receiving increasing support from other scientists, such as astronomer Nir Shaviv and geologist Jan Veizer. They confirm in the documentary that 'cosmic rays' have been directing the Earth's climate for 500 million years. These are particles from exploded stars that reach the Earth and on which water droplets become fixed in the atmosphere. This is how clouds are formed and clouds are the driving forces behind the weather on Earth. In his laboratory in Copenhagen, Henrik Svensmark shows how this is done in practice.
