Karl Marx City plot

Filmmaker Petra Epperlein and director Michael Tucker embark on a trip to the former East Germany. Epperlein is investigating whether her father, who committed suicide in 1999, worked for the Stasi (the Ministry of State Security). Protection of personal data is an increasingly important issue in these times of digital communication. Hidden cameras, hacked phones and leaked e-mails mean that privacy-sensitive information is up for grabs. What this means for our security and the rule of law is not easy to foresee for many.
