Iphigenia in Aulis plot
Italian director Tonino De Bernardi filmed on the Greek island of Evia (or Euboea) during the refugee crisis. Many immigrants moved to the Greek islands, as well as to Italy. De Bernardi also shows images of the border town of Ventimiglia, where refugees play football and queue for help in a parking lot. However, the focus of the documentary is on the Greek resort of Amarynthos, which overlooks the island of Boeotia, where the town of Aulis once was. There, Euripides' Ifigeneia was set in Aulis, the tragedy in which King Agamemnon shows his willingness to sacrifice his daughter Ifigeneia.
