Independent Intervention plot

'Independent Intervention' follows a Norwegian film director in the United States who wonders how the US media is covering the war in Iraq. The film examines key issues that guide the flow of information today and sees how this system reveals itself in times of war and political turmoil. If the main national networks keep human suffering in their broadcasts to a strict minimum, Operation Iraqi Freedom appears to have been a great success in spreading democracy and freedom. This film raises an awareness of the inequality of war between the American people who deliver media-driven and controlled reporting, and between the realities on the battlefield in Iraq. 'Independent Intervention' examines how the growing movement, the 'media democracy' in the United States, works to challenge the mass media in bringing the truth.
