I Kærlighedens Navn plot

In the affluent suburbs of Los Angeles, the Danish director Carlsen follows 'interventionists' who lift derailed teenagers from their beds and, with their parents' permission, take them to a strict re-education school in Utah. As Carlsen adds his personal story about his missing father, he wonders if the children are the real problem and what the role of the parents is. Accompanied by his personal, ironic commentary, Carlsen offers the viewer in eleven chapters a glimpse behind the facade of the peaceful-looking middle-class family life in LA, the capital of the world of make belief. He contrasts cheerful home videos with scenes in which parents betray their children by having them taken away by strangers against their will...
