The U.S. Army has its own legal system in which the base commander holds absolute authority. Twenty-year-old Vanessa Guillen was working at Fort Hood when she went missing on April 22, 2020. This documentary follows Vanessa's family's fight against the military command to find Vanessa. A tweet by Vanessa's sister, Mayra, was the starting point of a nationwide movement that fought for justice for Vanessa and changes to the military legal system under the hashtag #IamVanessaGuillen. The first part, regarding the search for Vanessa, is impressive. The second part, in which the family advocates for the aforementioned legal change, fails to sufficiently explain why there is so much resistance to the proposed adjustments.
