"How one man built a fashion empire."
Scandal in the Parisian fashion world in 1959: couturier Pierre Cardin has designed a ready-to-wear collection. Moreover, the clothing is also for sale in a department store. The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture cancels its membership, although it quickly sees its blunder. What could it be: Cardin manages to design imaginative clothing that is also affordable. During the 1960s and 1970s, he was considered one of the most innovative voices in the French fashion world with futuristic models that are also wearable and not just for the catwalk.
