Holy Bread plot

Holy Bread reports on the life-threatening activities of Kurdish men who work as kulbars. They transport goods across the Iranian border on behalf of their families. The mountain trails they walk with their heavy packs are rocky, steep, slippery during snowfall or blistering hot. Many of them are injured on the way, die in a snow storm or are shot by border police. For nine years, the film team followed these men, and a single woman, and documented the effects of working as a human pack mule.
