Hier Woon Ik, Daar Leef Ik plot

The great crossing that the first generation of Turkish women made 45 years ago from Turkey to the Netherlands is now being made in the opposite direction by some of their daughters and granddaughters. In the film, both paths are intertwined and the choice to stay or go back becomes visible in the lives of Fatma, Arzu, Hatice and Husniye. The four Turkish women candidly tell how they cope with the lack of the old culture and how they fight with the new one.
