Het Geheim van Ossenisse plot
Documentary diptych about an agricultural hamlet in the eastern corner of Zeeuws Vlaanderen. The Catholic village of Ossenisse has about 150 inhabitants who together share three streets, a church, a parish hall and a café. The first part of the diptych, entitled Het Dallas van Zeeuws Vlaanderen, highlights the competition between the café and the parish hall. Two unsworn mayors recruit their supporters in both buildings. The one in the cafe where the farmers meet. The other at the so-called 'import', residing in the parish hall. Part 2, De Oudstochtonen, portrays three elderly villagers. A sexton who found her love in the church, a retired farmer who was not allowed to marry an unbelieving woman and an accordionist who had no time to fall in love.
