Ha Ha Shanghai plot

This documentary shows the personal quest of the filmmaker, who recorded her visits from the United States and Hong Kong to China in the period between 1992 and 2001. In an effort to discover what happened to her old house, she talks to her mother's friends, relatives and neighbors. Their stories show that most people in Shanghai suffer from a selective memory, or simply keep withholding the truth for fear of being accused of 'treason to the people'.
