Goldrausch - Die Geschichte der Treuhand plot

If you now think of the 'Treuhandanstalt', words such as white-collar crime and abuse of subsidy funds come to mind. Since the Treuhandanstalt was founded in the last phase of the GDR, its task would be to privatize the state-owned enterprises and promote competitiveness in order to make a smooth transition to the unification of Germany. The final result, however, was the loss of 2.5 million jobs and a debt of $256 billion, until the German government closed in 1994. The scandal was never cleared up, nor were the responsibilities ever brought to justice... The documentary aims to reconstruct the events of the time and also asks what caused the scandal to those affected.
