Gokogu no Neko plot

In the Japanese coastal town of Ushimado lies the Shinto shrine Gokogu, home to a colony of stray cats. This film calmly observes how the animals have made a home there. Waiting to be thrown fish, sheltering during a rain shower. Although the cats are the main characters, this is also a portrait of the people who come and go from this place. The volunteers who feed the cats, wipe debris from their eyes, and catch them to be sterilized in an attempt to reduce the population.
