The documentary follows Gene Scott, renowned tele-evangelist and involved in a constant battle against the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). The latter tried to take his TV show off the air numerous times between the 1970s and 1980s. Scott blames his viewers for their lack of support for not giving enough money to keep going with the show. Werner Herzog portrays the man, his thoughts and some of his unusual programs.
