Freedom Fields plot
Lifted by the Arab Spring, the women of the Libyan football team dream of playing their first international match. But women's sport has been met with strong opposition in Libya, and when news of a possible international debut comes out, the media attention it generates only plays into the hands of those who want to block their ambitions. Three players from different social and political backgrounds are followed on and off the field. The interference of conservative forces in society forces women, even in more moderate circles, into a constant struggle for wiggle room, both in public and in their personal lives. They keep chasing their dream, dealing with disappointments and seizing new opportunities.
