The documentary tells the story of Angela Davis, January 26, 1944. She is an American philosopher, writer and political activist. In 1980 and 1984, she ran for Vice President of the United States on behalf of the Communist Party of the United States, as Gus Hall's running mate. Davis is best known for her fight for equal civil rights for blacks, in the Black Panther Party, and in the protests against the Vietnam War. She was charged with complicity in the kidnapping and murder of Judge Harold Haley in 1970. She was imprisoned for some time before that, but was eventually acquitted. Angela speaks for the first time in the documentary about the time before her imprisonment and her time in prison itself.
