Several women from Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Benin talk about various problems in their lives, such as female circumcision, forced marriage, AIDS, the struggle for survival, the economy and politics. The documentary shows the paradox in which these women live: they have a lot of responsibility for the survival and well-being of their families, but have only a small voice in important decisions.
