Faraway My Shadow Wandered plot

A bleak wind blows the coast of Anamizu, a Japanese town where Junya has promised his grandfather to take care of the family's ancient Shinto temple. Years later, he still hasn't kept that promise, having become estranged from his family in the meantime. An encounter with Sara, a dancer born on the same day as him, takes him back to his hometown. “Swallows always return to their nests,” he says on his return, photographing his hometown with his analog camera and a pair of eyes that have seen a lot since he left.
