Espoir Voyage plot

Years after the death of his brother Joanny, Burkinabe filmmaker Michel Zongo goes on a personal reconnaissance mission to the Ivory Coast. That's where Joanny went long ago never to return. Questions arise for the director: who really was Joanny and how did he live and die? Once there, he encounters a Burkinabe community who work under harsh conditions on cocoa and coffee plantations. They all hope to earn a lot of money in a short time, before returning home. But in most cases the reality is different. Finally, Zongo meets his brother's friends, and finds the comfort he'd hoped for...
