Escape from Kabul plot
"When the war ended, the crisis began."
This documentary unfolds over 18 landmark days in August 2021, from the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan to the subsequent evacuation of tens of thousands of Afghan civilians from Kabul airport after the Taliban took the city. He combines never-before-seen archive footage of people on the ground at the airport with exclusive interviews with people who were there throughout the period. These included Afghan civilians who tried to flee, US Marines who had to manage the evacuation and Taliban commanders and fighters who had recently taken the city.
