Eiland van Mijn Vader plot

In the 1970s, the Netherlands experienced various Moluccan hostage actions in the context of the Moluccan freedom struggle. The ideal of a free Moluccas lives on unabated in an Assense neighborhood where only Moluccan families live. The pain, anger and grief of three generations of Moluccan freedom fighters are exposed. For example, the mother of one of the perpetrators still sleeps with the bloodied shirt of her dead son under her pillow. And has a cousin tattoo his dead uncle's face on his chest thirty years later.
