Deus Tem AIDS plot
Forty years after the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic, someone who is infected with the virus is no longer automatically doomed. The disease has become a chronic condition. But in Brazil, where HIV/AIDS is still one-on-one associated with homosexuality and a promiscuous lifestyle by many, the stigma surrounding the disease remains high. President Bolsonaro's hateful rhetoric in recent years has fueled "serophobia" and his budget cuts hit education programs and clinics. That is why more than ten thousand Brazilians die every year from a disease that can be treated. Seven artists and an activist doctor – all HIV-positive – speak out against the fatal ignorance, but also against the racism in the gay scene and the total invisibility of women with HIV/AIDS.
