Der Maler plot

The famous German painter Albert Oehlen welcomes us to his studio, where he shares his creative process with us. We see him struggling with the white canvas, mumbling about balance, philosophizing about colors and crying when the canvas "doesn't talk to him". Finally, the work is done: an abstract composition such as Oehlen has made many. Only… the man with the brushes is not Oehlen, but actor Ben Becker, who plays Oehlen under the direction of the artist himself.
