Decoding the Weather Machine plot

Disastrous hurricanes. Widespread droughts and wildfires. Scorching heat waves. Extreme rainfall. It's hard not to conclude that something is wrong with the weather, and many scientists agree. They investigate the Earth's climate and search for clues worldwide, from the ice shelf in Greenland to the desert of Australia.
