Cinéma Vérité: Defining the Moment plot

Documentary about the "direct cinema" from the very beginning to the fake "direct cinema" from "The Blair Witch Project". The director points out the difference between the classic vérité and new forms of the genre: according to him, the influence of vérité can be seen in everything from music videos to feature films to television news. Yet these are not vérité films. The big difference is that contemporary visual culture is completely meaningless. It, especially the television news, consists purely of images and does not have the social awareness and social responsibility that characterized the old vérité films.
