Chocobar is a documentary film by Argentine Lucrecia Martel about the murder of indigenous activist Javier Chocobar. Chocobar was shot dead while fighting the removal of the indigenous community from their ancestral land in Argentina. His death appeared on YouTube. The film unravels the 500 years of "meaning" that led to this shooting, both with a gun and a camera, and contextualizes it in the system of land tenure in Latin America.

In October 2009, Javier Chocobar was involved in a confrontation with Dario Armin that had gotten out of hand. It was the result of a long-running conflict over the land on which Chocobar and the Chuschagasta community had lived in austere conditions for many generations. Chocobar claimed ownership based on the fact that they live on the land and cultivate it; Armin used formal documents (which denied or ignored the presence of the Chuschagasta) as an argument. Martel extends the running time with a drone camera roaming the area central to this dispute, but the main points are made quickly and it takes a very long time before a decision is reached. The parties involved had to wait a long time for a decision anyway, but surely that doesn't mean we have to? Half an hour shorter would have been nice.
