"Born to lose?"

This documentary traces the life of rocker Johnny Thunders, member of the legendary proto-punk band the New York Dolls, through footage and interviews with musicians such as Dee Dee Ramone and Sylvain Sylvain. It shows his time with the New York Dolls, the formation of his other band (the Heartbreakers), his growing fame, his descent into a heroin addiction and his mysterious death in a New Orleans hotel in 1991.
