Big Five Asien plot
Documentary about five Asian animal species that are in danger of extinction. A few centuries ago, there were still about 600,000 rhinoceroses in Asia. But the destruction of their habitat and the hunt for the precious horn have pushed them to the brink of extinction. The Komodo dragon, also known as the last living dinosaur, is the largest living lizard in the world. But its survival is highly uncertain, especially due to poaching and climate change. On the island of Borneo, the proliferation of palm oil plantations and urbanization are preventing elephants from using their ancient routes. Siberian tigers can handle extremely cold temperatures, but poaching and road and village construction have put them at risk of extinction. The future also looks bleak for the Asian lions.
