"Torture was his real turn on"
In April 1988, 39-year-old Robert Berdella, owner of the rarity store Bobs Bazaar Bizarre in Kansas City, was arrested after a kidnapped and tortured man fled his home. The man had escaped death: Berdella confessed to six murders of young men, whom he had picked up from the street over the past four years and locked up in his house, which was used as a torture room. He had experimented on them, injected them with drugs, electrified them and penetrated them with vegetables and other things. He captured all this in countless Polaroid photos. He then disposed of the corpses with little respect.
