Austerlitz plot
For his documentary 'Austerlitz', Sergei Loznitsa visited a number of former German concentration camps on site that have been converted into museums. He takes a brief look at the memorials that aim to remind the countless tourists of the terrible times. Loznitsa asks himself the question: what motivates visitors and what drives them to visit work camps and crematoria on a beautiful summer weekend, instead of spending a day in the great outdoors.
