Al Sarkha plot
No one ever thought it possible that Yemini women would take to the streets in such great numbers during the 2011 revolution to make their voices heard. In Yemen's male-dominated society, where traditionally a woman's voice should not be heard as her hair should go unseen, women have played an important role in the uprisings against dictatorial regimes in the hope of change and democracy. In Al Sarkha, Khadija Al-Salami follows three women who played a major role during the revolt. Although President Ali Abdullah Saleh has been impeached, have journalist Rahma, human rights activist Balqis, poet Huda and their female supporters succeeded in achieving their goal?
