A Long Journey Home plot

Armed with a camera, director Zhang Wenqian returns from her study abroad to her parental home, where three generations live side by side. Although the apartment is barely 120 square meters in size, everyone lives alongside each other. For example, the distance between Zhang and her mother is palpable, even though they share the same bed. Topics such as money, buying a house, relationships and marriage are the cause of long, bitter conversations. The quarrels between Zhang's parents come to a frank and heartbreaking boiling point.
