1960 plot
Filmmaker Gabrielle Salvatores uses archival footage and his own personal history to paint a picture of 1960, a year of economic and creative revival in Italy. Images of the Olympic Games in Rome and important political events are shown. The film is told from the point of view of two brothers. One brother stays behind in the southern Italian town where they live, while the other brother leaves for northern Italy in search of a better life.
