The Whisper Man plot

A widower who writes crime novels moves with his eight-year-old son to the quiet town of Featherbank, which was plagued fifteen years earlier by a serial killer known as the Whisper Man. When his son is kidnapped, he enlists the help of his estranged father, a retired detective. Together, they discover a connection between the kidnapping and the old case, in which an accomplice may also be involved.

A mediocre film about a single father whose young son is kidnapped after a move. Quite a standard thriller. The plot is entertaining in itself, but it never gets exciting. There was also potential for more regarding the various father-son relationships. A fine cast, with the scenes between Robert DeNiro and Michael Keaton being quite good.

Fine movie. Original? No. Fun? As far as I'm concerned, yes.

It feels a bit like a thriller from the 90s, but made in the present day. It features a few good actors, although I felt that some of them were acting a bit on autopilot.

But still: just a fine and enjoyable watch.
