The Vintage plot
"THEY WERE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH! LUSTY! VIOLENT! PRIMITIVE!"
Two young Italians, hothead Ernesto Barandero, who has committed a murder, and his older brother Giancarlo, who always protects Ernesto, are on the run from the police and hide among the wine pickers somewhere in Provence. The calm and wary Giancarlo falls in love with the vulnerable and sensitive wine-picker Lucienne, while Ernesto becomes passionate about Léone, the neglected wife of winegrower Louis Morel. Louis is now also the employer of both brothers and problems seem inevitable.
